It sounds like it could be folliculitis. From what I understand, it's where the hair follicle gets infected, typically by a fungus. If so, you may be luckier than everyone else because that stuff can be cured by killing the fungus. And there are treatments you can get at your dermatologist for it.
It could also be acne rosacea. If it's that, then metronidazole treatments might help. The Xin Fumanling cream has, I think, 2% metronidazole, which is a lot more than what you typically get from prescription drugs. I think I read somewhere that it also kills fungal infections, but I could be wrong.
Sulfur treatments help with fungal infections as well. The Zhong Zhou product has sulfur in it.
So my recommendation is to check it out with your dermatologist first. Ask him specifically what it could be and whether or not it could be folliculitis. If he prescribes metronidazole, it might be better if you went on the ZZ + XFML treatment. Those work better than the lower-dose metronidazole you'll get from your dermatologist I believe.
