Used cream ZZ for 7 days. Have several questions.

Post by lenska »

Hi,

I am a new customer and have several questions about demodex treatment, but first I would like to describe my Rosacea history first. I was diagnosed with Rosacea 6 years ago. I did not want to take any pills until my face started looking like a wound. I took tetracycline for 3 months, used Physoderm face wash and Metronidazol cream. By the end of the 3 months treatment my face cleared out completely, but I was still getting red flashes. I stopped taking tetracycline, but continued Physoderm and Metrocream for a while. Then eventually I stopped both. For two years I had some pimples from time to time, but they never became permanent. Then again I started seeing more and more break outs and finally I noticed that one pimple and some kind of red rush that looked like food allergy on one of my cheeks did not go away for about 6 months. I tried metrocream again, then added Physoderm. This time it did not help. I could not believe that with all the advanced research technology doctors still do not know how to treat Rosacea! Well, I found this website, what I read made sense to me. I received Zhongzhou Zinc oxide cream a week ago and immediately started using it. Today is the 8th day. The pimple and the rush that became permanent almost went away. Now I have several questions re: my further treatment.

1) I was only applying the cream on my cheeks. This is where my problem areas are (flare-ups, pimples, rushes). Can I continue the same routine or should I put the cream on the rest of my face as well to get rid of Demodex?

2) The cream does make my skin extremely dry. I apply my regular moisturizing cream (Shiseido light moisturizer) on top in a few minutes after applying demodex cream. Is it all right or should I use something else to moisturize my skin?

3) How long should I continue the treatment?

4) Where in US can I get a skin test on Demodex?

Thanks,

Hello

1: Better to do whole your face, not much, just a tiny bit is enough.

2: You can use any moisturizer you feel good with but be careful not to dilute the ointment to much.

3: How long is difficult to say, people are to different but in general 4 months, some need to do maintenance treatment,
some not, that is something you need to find out yourself later.

4: No idea, it seems to be very difficult to find somebody who is able to do a demodex mite test in the US, maybe somebody else knows
if you tell the neighborhood you live in, I really don?t know fore the moment.
You can try with your derm but there is a big possibility he will look at you with very strange eyes?????????.

Problem with testing.

Post by Marla »

The problem with testing for Demodex in the U.S. is legal in nature. A layperson performing a clinical procedure is wide open to a lawsuit.

It's that simple.

Sorry to say. Otherwise, I would do it. Even by employing aseptic technique, someone could set me up for something horrible that happens to their skin from some other cause after testing. I would be to blame regardless of how ridiculous the situation.

Aestheticians know little or nothing about microbiology. I have asked. It is better to shut up than to try to convince someone in cosmetology that bugs make acne. They will tell you, "I've never heard of that!"
