Continue with current medication or not?
I'll get straight to my question and won't bother to go through my symptoms as they have been listed countless times by everyone else on the board.
I have just ordered Z cream and Acarid removing soap for the first time and am eagerly awaiting delivery.
Currently I am taking oxytetracycline tablets prescribed twice a day - although I don't think they are doing anything. I am also taking Vitamin C supplements and using an Aloe Vera Gel.
Should I continue with this medication when I start the Z cream or not?
It has also been suggested that I take a Vitamin B Complex and Omega 3-6-9 as well. What do you think?

Hello
Continuo taking the oxytetracycline tablets can maybe, if you would get some, keeping possible breakouts down
in the beginning of the treatment, just a maybe though, if it is doing nothing now, will probably do not so much later neither.
Taking vitamins can never harm and you can use aloe vera gel the moments you don?t treat during the day if it helps you.
Some people even mixed a bit aloe vera gel together with the ZZ with good results, the main reason they did this was against dry skin.

Wow - I can hardly belive it!!!
I have only been using the ZZ cream and soap for three days and already I can see an feel an improvement.
Last night I slept right through without without waking up scratching my red raw face.
I went for a small jog this morning and my face didn't flare up as it normally would.
Although there is obviously a lot of work to do, I feel like I have got my life back!!
Thank you Demodex Solutions.

Just a couple of questions
All is going well at the moment.
I am not as itchy as before although I have quite a lot of peeling.
Is it OK to put the ZZ cream on my eyelids?
I have been putting the cream on before I go to bed and leaving it on overnight. Is this OK or is it too long to have the cream on?

You do have your life back. Isn't it great?!

The first 10 days were great!
The first 10 days were great! However...
Now my skin is very red - almost like sunburn. It is very dry and flaky (as I expected) but this morning I had many tiny pin-pricks of weeping all over my face.
I used an aloe-vera moisturiser (from http://www.infinitealoe.com/store/produ ... spx?pid=19 ) three times in the day and the weeping seems to have disappeared, but I am still red.
Is this normal?
I have been using the ZZ cream early evening and overnight - Should I keep on going as normal or reduce the time I use the cream?
Going back to a previous post - I do have rosacea on my eyelids and although I haven't been using the cream on them, there does seem to have been an improvement. Perhaps because they are right next to treated areas!
On a different note I would just like to mention the tingling feeling that many have written about when applying the cream. For me the feeling is more of a burning sensation. However I am now used to it and strangely look forward to the sensation, as after a minute or so, it gives a kind of menthol relief to any typical rosacea irritations.

Thin skin maybe.
Dear ChrisB:
You almost answered your own question about using the ZZ less often.
Farther down in your post, you mention that you have improvement in the eyelid area, and then you suggest that the ZZ might be working to clear that area as well, even though you do not apply it there.
So, if we pile all that up, it looks like you can use the cream less often, and yes, the effect of the cream extends to areas that are not treated. I have done this myself, and I have observed improvement in untreated areas.
The weeping pinpoints tell me that your skin might not be adequately protected by the tougher outer layers. Sometimes it might be best to allow a couple of weeks with no treatment before beginning the Demodex Solutions treatment.
What do you think about giving your skin some rest? How about spot-treating for a couple of weeks, and washing gently once a day. Let your skin breathe for an hour or so before putting anything on it. Avoid abrasion. Pat your skin rather than rub it. Allow the new skin cells to form a protective barrier.
When you first feel an itch or tickle in your skin, spot treat the small area with ZZ. Be alert for itching elsewhere on your body, and treat the itch wherever it is. The back, shoulders, upper arms, and the hairline areas are prone to Demodex infestation. Also, and especially, the ears! Treat small red bumps anywhere (that are closed) quickly even if they don't itch.
If the weeping does not go away within a week or two, then you have a problem that must be solved by a clinician. If it gets worse, common sense dictates that you go find help right away.
Sorry to hear that your skin misbehaved! I keep my fingers crossed for you that time will give your skin the advantage of protection.

Thanks Marla and Walter. You advice and support is really appreciated.
I think I may have been using too much of the cream - I noticed a reply from Walter on a different topice where he said that your face should not be white after applying the cream. He said it should almost be invisible. Silly me I had been using it almost the same as foundation!
So today I have followed your advice: Washed once and pat dry, occasional spot treatments of ZZ except for my forehead which had the worst weeping. The redness has gradually reduced over the day.
I'll continue with this for a couple of weeks and then go back to normal - only not using so much of the cream at one time!
I should probably note that overall my partner and I can definately see an improvement and I am the most comfortable that I have been for a long time. Previously I have shyed away from direct eye contact as I have been embarrased by the skin condition on my face - my confidence is starting to come back.
