Using a high potency retinol cream while using DS products?

Post by bignfuzzy »

I was wondering how retenoids like Retin-A and differin work to to eliminate acne if mites are the problem for a lot of us?

Also, I am currently using a high potency retinol cream called Green Cream, from http://greencream.com/, to help eliminate acne. It's not as effective as Retin-A or differin but it is over-the-counter. It's working fairly well for me and I am almost clear but my face still itches like crazy a lot of the time and I want some relief from this! The GC increases the skin cell turnover time from 35 to 6 days, according to there own web site, and this causes it to also make scars heal faster which I really like and I would like to continue using this product. Is it ok to use both of these products at the same time, maybe GC at night and either zz cream or xfml cream in the morning? I guess the official response from this board is predictable, ?don't use any other products while using our products!? I am usually vary of people posting there own wacky theories online, but it seems to me the increased cell turnover time would also make it easier to kill the mites as they will be coming to the surface faster. Does anyone have any idea about whether or not this is a good idea?

Thanks 8)

Retin A is Tretinoin, it is used to treat acne. It promotes peeling of affected skin areas and unclogs pores. Tretinoin controls acne but does not cure it.
It works partly by keeping skin pores clear, what it does more against acne they don?t know themselves it looks, I could not find it anyway.

Differin is Adapalene, it acts on retinoid receptors. Biochemical and pharmacological profile studies have demonstrated that adapalene is a modulator of cellular differentiation, keratinization, and inflammatory processes all of which represent important features in the pathology of acne vulgaris.
Mechanistically, adapalene binds to specific retinoic acid nuclear receptors but does not bind to the cytosolic receptor protein. Although the exact mode of action of adapalene is unknown, it is suggested that topical adapalene normalizes the differentiation of follicular epithelial cells resulting in decreased microcomedone formation.

It looks they don?t know themselves exactly how they work against acne, neither do I?????????

What is acne?
Bacterial infections right?
You don?t need to have infections because you have a greasy skin, make to much sebum, that is a general misunderstanding and are two different things.
I make myself for example still a lot of sebum but besides an occasional pimple I have no acne anymore, I had heavy acne since I was teenager.
Most products against acne are working against bacteria, like Benzoyl Peroxide for example (one of the better products)
this is fine but doesn?t take the reason away why bacteria coming deep in the skin which are not belonging there, plus,
it can do nothing against the host specific bacteria demodex mites have in their guts and which become exposed
when they die in your skin, plus, bacteria can become resistant after some years against BP.
It is impossible to keep your skin bacteria free all the time.

Demodex mites transport the bacteria which are on the surface of everybody?s skin till deep in the hair follicles and sebaceous glands, result, infections,
theoretically, they can transport everything which is on your skin, even viruses, then, they have there own bacteria in their guts which become exposed when they die,
again a reason for infections, they can be with so many that they block the pores, result, widened pores, look at the nose pores from many people.
Demodex brevis has two sharp needles on his head, damaging the sebaceous glands.
Eliminate those mites and you take the main reason of the infections away.
I probably doesn?t matter so much in what combination you use the ZZ ointment as long you use the ZZ in the evening/night and your skin can handle it
but never use something else at the same time with the ZZ, alternating should be ok but then again, always use the ZZ in the evening/night, then the mites surface and the ointment is
the most effective.
Using one time a day (in the evening) is enough but using also during the day will speed up the process.

So theoretically, If i managed to kill every demodex parasite on my face in say a one hour treatment (not by creams or soaps of course)

Would i have massive inflamation and acne breakouts? Because of all the toxins and bacteria being released into my body at once?

Also, if you exercise regularily... like intense exercising every day where you sweat alot... isnt it possible to help flood out dead demodex mites and their toxins before it really damages your skin?

Probably yes, but also depends how severe you react on those mite bacteria so will be different for every person.
I don?t think sweating can do anything, sweat is made in separate glands so sweat doesn?t flush hair follicles or sebaceous glands.
