I would like to make a comment about the above conversation. The author of this topic said that they were being reinfested by the scalp not being treated properly, and that is exactly what I'm afraid of. I am using different shampoos, but I feel these shampoos have little effect. They are on my head...

This talk of blaming cats is ridiculous. The demodex mite, from what I've read, is species specific. Unless the cat were talking about has mange, I would not go blaming cats, or dogs for that matter.

Yea I have what looks to be seborrheic dermatitis on my body, and it is definitely due to these mites in my opinion.

Also, how has your treatment gone? It looks like you have been on here since July 2010.
