Regarding a cyst... If you think the cyst will cause a scar, go to your dermatologist immediately and demand a cortisone injection. The cortisone will cause it to heal (it stops inflammation caused by infections). And/or have him lance it with sterile instruments. That should just about eliminate th...

Re: The Male Factor

Steve, I would be interested in one or more polls regarding the frequency of people with Demodex, or acne of any type, who are in close contact with mammalian pets; and, another poll regarding the presence of suspected demodicosis in the family history. Since you are skilled in scientific methods, ...

I don't think Acne is hereditary because Acne is related to an over infestation of mites. As Steve said, there's only a genetic component to acne ie. your skin type...but on the other hand, if we were to live outdoors like the cavemen my guess is that Acne and a large amount of other skin condition...

Marla, I can almost guarantee you that acne has a genetic component to it. In other words, some people are genetically susceptible to getting acne. Most people get acne when they're teenagers, but it doesn't carry over into adulthood for them. Only a small percentage of people still have it in adult...

What do you guys think of this routine: Morning: Shower with Acrid Soap Evening: Shower with Acrid Soap Apply ZZ Creme Pretty standard stuff? Good idea to use the Acarid soap to wash your face twice a day. If I were you, I'd add XFML with metronidazole after the shower in the morning. I don't gener...

I also notice it when I come into contact with other people with acne, I will get acne if I shake their hands and then touch my face. I can't 100% prove it, but it really does look like there's a cause and effect there. So yes, one has to be careful about re-infection.

I don't know what the official answer is, but personally I'd be worried that using a moisturizer with ZZ would dilute ZZ too much. This dryness is why we use ZZ at night and then XFML in the day. The XFML cream acts like a moisturizer. It's a good combination. Otherwise, just use ZZ at night and a g...

For me, it's not really much of a burn as such. I think it's more like a cool feeling. I might have gotten a little burn when I first tried it, but I don't feel that anymore if I did then. I know sulfur products do burn on my face, and ZZ has sulfur in it, so it's possible you're just more sensitive...
