I never experienced any drying with ZZ cream. I've been using it for 5 days now, both morning and night. I put on a fingerscoop of ZZ, which may be more than required, but I am not drying out at all. To help with white residue, I just dip my hands in water and rub my face. This won't wipe off the treatment, but will help to remove the white powder. I only do this mornings so far. Perhaps that will help for you too.
